Lyla and I decided to start Lace it Up Girls because we found that young female athletes in the lower counties of the Eastern Shore aren’t offered the same opportunities as the male athletes in the area. We’re at least 2 hours away from the larger cities, female athletes here have a harder time finding education and outreach to grow their skills and abilities. We wanted to give girls the same possibilities.
